Bobby Vernon
Bobby Vernon is currently a co-founder and serves as Managing Director of VK Howden, LLC. Bobby is also a co-founder and major shareholder of Colosa, Inc., a software company specializing in Internet based work flow and BPM systems.
Prior to co-founding VK Howden and Colosa, Bobby served for five years as Senior Vice President with Mexbrit, Ltd., a reinsurance consulting firm based in Coral Gables, Florida. Prior to Mexbrit he served as Vice President and Director of Reliance National Brazil Seguros in charge of all specialty/financial products and played a key role in designing and completing the acquisition of Seguradora BMC, S.A. based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the subsequent creation of Reliance National Brasil Seguros.
Bobby has published several articles relating to Financial and Professional Liability, and has been quoted in many US and Latin business publications, including National Underwriter, El Informe, El Chronista, and Buenos Aires Economico. Additionally, he has spoken at many notable conferences on the subject of Professional Liability & Corporate Governance, namely the 1998 and 2005 PLUS conferences in Palm Springs and Boston, respectively, the 2006 C5 Conference in London, and the 1998 World Research conference in Miami, FL.
Bobby is proficient in Spanish and Portuguese and holds a Bachelor's Degree in International studies from Georgetown University and an MBA from Duke University.
Matt Kelly
Matt Kelly is currently a co-founding Director and serves as Chief Underwriting Officer for VK Howden, LLC. Prior to co-founding VK Howden, Matt served as Vice President with Mexbrit, Ltd., a reinsurance consulting firm based in Coral Gables, Florida. Prior to Mexbrit, Matt spent three years working in New York underwriting D&O and PI for both AIG and CNA. Additionally he has over ten years of extensive D&O underwriting experience in Latin America working for prominent Insurance/Reinsurance companies.
Matt has published several articles relating to Financial and Professional Liability, and has appeared in many US and Latin business publications, including Professional Liability Underwriters Society (PLUS) Journal, Instituto de Reaseguro do Brasil (IRB) quarterly magazine and publications in Chilean and Puerto Rican newspapers. Additionally, he has spoken at various conferences on the subject of Professional Liability & Corporate Governance, namely the Ace Insurance Company Management Liability Seminar for Puerto Rico in San Juan, PR and Seminario sobre la responsabilidad civil de directores y ejecutivos. Matt speaks both English and Spanish fluently. He received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Latin American Literature from Connecticut College and Toor Cummings Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts (CISLA).
Alex Vidal Moreira
Alexandre Vidal Moreira has more then 10-year experience within local Insurance and Reinsurance Industry performing different roles within the underwriting Liability segment. He is proficient in Spanish and fluent in both English and Portuguese and holds a law degree from Universidade Cândido Mendes, Brazil.
He started as a Liability Underwriter for Sul America Seguros, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1999, has joined Employers Reinsurance Corp., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he became responsible by managing ERC’s Liability Portfolio (GL, D&O/ PI) and all Fac Underwriter within Latin American Region. Prior to joining VK Howden Alexandre was at Mapfre Seguros S/A, São Paulo, Brazil as Reinsurance Manager. During the last few years he has been an effective technical commission member of local representative entities.
Dan Hallinan
Daniel has spent 7 years working in Lloyd’s brokerage house’s broking crime and liability products into the London market for international clients. Prior to joining VK Howden he worked in Howden’s London office for a total of 5 years in the capacity of Associate Director. After initially servicing clients from the Nordic and Far East region, during the last two years of tenure at Howden London he successfully set up the Central Eastern European team.
Diego Miagro
Diego has spent ten (10) years underwriting General Liability, Professional Liability, D&O and Medical Malpractice. He began his career at General Reinsurance Corporation in the US where he spent over a year as a Marketing Underwriter for the US market at which time he was transferred to Buenos Aires, Argentina to help build the liability book of business there. He spent the first 3 years as a Marketing Underwriter, the following year as a Senior Marketing Underwriter and the last 2 years responsible for their Casualty Facultative operation. Diego was then hired by ACE Latin America to start up their new Casualty Wholesale & Facultative operation responsible for underwriting General Liability risks in all countries in Latin America. After successfully launching that operation, Diego decided to join VK Howden.
Jaime Aramburo
is currently the underwriting and brokerage representative for VK Howden’s operations in Colombia and services most of the South and Central American regions. Prior to working with VK Howden, Jaime worked with Bobby Vernon and Matt Kelly in a similar capacity at Mexbrit. Jaime also previously served as Financial Institutions and Professional Risks Director for Aon Re Colombia for approximately four (4) years and prior to that as the Financial Lines Manager for AIG in Colombia. Jaime’s product expertise includes D&O, Public Officials, PI, EPL, BBB, Crime and other related specialty lines written in Colombia and the Latin America Region.
Jaime speaks both English and Spanish fluently. He received a both a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Marketing from the University of Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
Kenia Delgado
Kenia Delgado began her Insurance career in 1995 holding various positions within the Management Liability Underwriting sector for Financial Institutions and Middle Market Commercial accounts at AIG and The Hartford Insurance Company. She then joined FirstCity's wholesale broking division as an Assistant Vice President and was responsible for the domestic growth and diversification of the Management Liability and Professional Liability book of business. In 2008 she joined Howden, LLC as a Director of U.S. broking and will be an integral contributor to the implementation of the domestic Management Liability and Professional Lines broking division. Kenia graduated from Marist College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and Marketing from.
Manuel G. Cordero
is currently the underwriting and marketing representative for VK Howden’s operations in Puerto Rico. Prior to working with VK Howden, Manuel worked with Bobby Vernon and Matt Kelly in a similar capacity at Mexbrit. Manuel also served as Financial Lines underwriter and manager for AIG and ACE Insurance companies in Puerto Rico for approximately nine (9) years. Manuel’s product expertise includes D&O, PI, EPL, Med Mal and other related specialty lines written in Puerto Rico and the Latin America Region.
Manuel speaks both English and Spanish fluently. He received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Dayton, Ohio. Manuel also has is Certified Public Accountant (CPA) degree.
